Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has addressed the online backlash he received after revealing in an interview that he once practiced urine therapy to recover from a serious injury. Rawal, who is currently back on board for Hera Pheri 3, stood firm in defense of his past health decision and dismissed the controversy as exaggerated.
The actor’s comments surfaced during an interview with Lallantop, where he shared that he drank his own urine for 15 days following a fall decades ago. He claimed the practice helped him recover quickly, shocking doctors with his fast healing. “I was supposed to stay in the hospital for over two months. Instead, I was back at work within a month,” he explained.
His story, however, triggered trolling online, with many criticizing the unconventional method. In a response to Bollywood Hungama, Rawal clapped back, saying,
“I didn’t offer them any, so why are they upset? Are they offended because I didn’t share it with them?”
Rawal clarified that the event happened over 40 years ago, urging people not to make a fuss over a personal experience. “It’s my life. I mentioned it casually. Why make a mountain out of a molehill?” he said.
When asked whether others have reached out to him since the interview, Rawal said, “Many have, but I prefer not to elaborate.”
His candid approach sparked debate online, with some questioning whether celebrities should be more cautious when discussing health anecdotes due to their influence. Others praised his transparency and his willingness to share a personal healing journey.
As Hera Pheri 3 gears up for production, Rawal’s headline-making interview proves that the veteran actor is still unafraid of speaking his truth — no matter how unconventional it may sound.
