LeAnn Rimes Leaves The Voice UK After One Season—Tom Jones Shares Fan Praise Instead
Country star LeAnn Rimes has officially departed The Voice UK after serving as a coach for just one season. According to sources, the singer stepped away from the ITV competition show to refocus on her career in the United States—where she’s set to appear as a mega-mentor on The Voice USA alongside Sheryl Crow.
Rimes, who joined the show in 2024 with Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am, and McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones, was a hit with both fans and crew. A source told The Sun: “LeAnn was loved by everyone on set, but she’s made the decision to focus on new opportunities in the States.”
Clues to her departure had surfaced earlier in social media posts. In one message, Rimes wrote, “I’m so ready for May and the exciting new journey I’m about to embark on!” She later teased a “big life/career decision” that was “completely new and different.”
Despite the shake-up, longtime panelists Tom Jones and Will.i.am are expected to return for the 14th season, along with Fletcher and Danny Jones, who mentored Ava Mannings to victory last year.
Meanwhile, Sir Tom Jones, now 84, returned to Instagram after Rimes’s exit—but avoided the topic altogether. Instead, he shared glowing fan feedback from a recent New Orleans concert, where he performed for two hours straight.
“His voice was as strong and clear as ever,” one fan wrote. “If he comes near you—run, don’t walk!”
Jones also shared a clip from a TV appearance with former The Voice coach Gavin Rossdale, staying upbeat despite the lineup change on the show.
ITV producers are now in the process of recruiting a new female coach to fill Rimes’s seat. Previous judges have included Anne-Marie, Olly Murs, Rita Ora, and Kylie Minogue—and insiders say the next addition will be a big name to “bring new energy” to the show.
No replacement has been announced yet, but fans can expect filming to begin later this summer.
