K-pop group Riize has released their second studio album, “Fame.” This new project reveals a different artistic side of the seven-member boy band. Consequently, it marks a significant shift from their brighter debut album, “Odyssey.”
Member Anton explained this evolution during a recent interview. “This next chapter shows a different side of ourselves,” said the Korean-American artist. He expressed curiosity about fan reactions to their new musical direction.
Discovering a Darker Musical Identity
The “Fame” album introduces darker concepts and sounds. Member Sohee highlighted the track “Something’s in the Water” as particularly representative. “It really shows our dark side and things we would want to hide,” he noted, contrasting it with their previous work.
The album features diverse musical styles. It includes the soulful R&B of “Something’s in the Water,” the upbeat “Sticky Like,” and the hip-hop title track “Fame.” This variety demonstrates the group’s expanding artistic range.
Full Circle Moments and Global Ambitions
Riize recently performed at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater for their “Riizing Loud” tour. This location held special significance for the group. Anton described Los Angeles as “Riize’s hometown in a way” because they filmed their debut music videos there.
The U.S. leg of their tour concluded on November 14. However, their global journey continues. The tour will resume in early 2026 with performances across Asia, including Jakarta, Manila, and Singapore.
Formed in 2023, Riize combines “rise” and “realize” in their name. This reflects their mission of mutual growth and dream realization. Through “Fame,” they continue evolving while maintaining their signature “emotional pop” foundation.
