Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has revealed that some of the children he raises are not biologically his. Despite this, he still provides for them and treats them as his own.
Speaking on Way Up with Angela Yee, the award-winning artist was asked about how fatherhood has shaped his life. He explained that while he knows some of the kids are not his by blood, he has chosen to continue caring for them fully, without resentment toward their mothers.
“Well, first of all, I know I do have kids. But I also know that some are not my kids,” Diamond said. “I don’t want to argue with the mother and all that, but I take care of all of them… I really try my best to make sure that I take good care of them.”
He shared that he learned the truth through a DNA test. However, the results did not change his attitude or the love he shows the children. For him, fatherhood is about responsibility, not just biology.
Diamond also discussed his relationship with the mothers of his children, stressing that they maintain good terms. According to him, their current partners sometimes feel uneasy, even though his romantic involvement with the women ended long ago.
“Me, I’m very cool with all my baby mamas. They love me. I don’t want to lie to you. They like me. I’m a good person to them,” he said. “Sometimes, their men get mad at me… thinking maybe we have something. No, we don’t. We got nothing going on.”
His remarks have sparked conversation among fans, with many praising his decision to take responsibility beyond blood ties. Diamond’s openness about fatherhood highlights a personal side to one of Africa’s biggest music stars.
