Kim Kardashian traveled to Mexico for a medical procedure unavailable in the United States. She brought her sister Khloé Kardashian along and documented the trip on Instagram. The 44-year-old reality star revealed she underwent a Muse stem cell treatment at Eterna Health, which she says gave her instant pain relief.
Eterna Health describes Muse stem cell therapy as a process that aims for complete cellular renewal. The treatment replaces damaged cells with healthy tissue in joints and muscles. Kardashian shared photos from the clinic, including one showing blood on her back during the procedure. Wearing black pajamas and dark goggles, she posed with Dr. Adeel Khan, the physician who oversaw her care.
Two years ago, the TV star tore her shoulder while lifting weights, leaving her in severe pain. After trying many treatments without success, she learned about stem cell therapy and met Dr. Khan. His team treated her shoulder with Dezawa Muse cells, restoring her full range of motion almost immediately.
Encouraged by that recovery, Kardashian returned for treatment on her chronic back pain. She said the Muse stem cell procedure brought instant relief and ended years of discomfort. “It transformed my life when I thought my body was breaking down,” she wrote.
Stem cell therapy is not banned in the U.S., but only certain types — such as those using umbilical cord blood stem cells for blood disorders — have FDA approval. Most other treatments, including Muse stem cells, remain unapproved for general use. This prompted Kardashian to seek the procedure abroad.
Kardashian promoted Eterna Health in her post but urged followers to research carefully and speak with medical professionals before pursuing similar procedures. She expressed gratitude for the chance to access this care and hoped advances in science would make it available to more people.
Closing her message, Kardashian wrote: “Here’s to hope, healing, and the future of science.”
