“They tend to dislike him, yes. I don’t check Instagram anymore, so I really haven’t seen that much hate,” Casalegno explained, adding that his sister sometimes sends him memes about the backlash. “It’s important to understand this is a fictional story — and it’s not me.”
The actor admitted that some people even tell him in person how much they dislike Jeremiah. “It’s pretty comical,” he said. Casalegno also praised Amazon for attempting to clamp down on online abuse with a zero-tolerance policy on bullying, though he admitted it’s “not really going so well.”
